Sucker Magnets... Are You Stuck?

There are so many free to join programs available these days, all of them claiming to be huge money makers, but are they really? The more sales pitches I read, the more obvious it becomes that most sales pages and letters are targeted toward newbies. No offense is intended to the Internet newbies reading this. It is just a plain and simple fact that when someone is new to the Internet, particularly to making money online, they have a tendency to fall for just about anything.

I've been reviewing programs and business opportunities for years now, and most are junk. The people making money are the creators of the programs, not the army of affiliate newbies promoting them. Think about it... what is the likelihood that you will make a bunch of money promoting the same product that perhaps 1000 others are promoting? Especially if you are using the same ad copy as everyone else.

I think of most of these programs as, "sucker magnets." P.T. Barnum once said that there is a sucker born every minute. Most Internet marketing gurus bank on this idea. That is how they become filthy rich and you don't.

You can't make money on free to join. If it's free, no money changes hands.The hook with most of these sucker magnets is to join free and upgrade to earn commissions. Therefore, it's not really free, is it? One should not have to pay a fee in order to be eligible for commissions, if the program being promoted is being labeled as free to join. Free is a deception just to get you to visit the web site and read the sales copy. Usually, you will see a whole host of bonus products that you can get your hands on, IF you UPGRADE. Again, not free. Then there may be the promise of earning on the bonus products themselves. Yeah right!

If someone can get those bonuses for joining and upgrading through your affiliate link to the program, they will get those same bonuses, so how do you make money from selling them separately? You don't. Again, there are 1000's of people out there pushing the same stuff. And most of the bonus products offered are products that have been around for a while. This means that many people already have them, and won't be spending money on them now or later.

The next time you are tempted to join something that is free, think long and hard about it. Don't just jump on the bandwagon, because the sales copy sounds good, or the site has appealing eye candy. The only person who is going to make money is the site owner. I'm sorry if this disappoints you, but better to keep your cash and deal with disappointment, than to go broke and get frustrated too.
