Working and Business

I Have A Confession...
Trina L.C. Sonnenberg

I do not work for a living! Technically speaking, I earn a living performing tasks for someone else, but I do not work.

Here is my story...

Work is not work, when you love what you do. That's my motto, and I love what I do.

Okay, so I don't love cleaning the spam from my email boxes every day, but other than that, everything else I do I love. I do everything with passion.

I appreciate all that I have, right down to experiencing never ending awe of the beautiful place that I have come to call home. Nucla, Colorado. (noo-kla)

In this simple fact, lay the secret to my success. I do what I love and I do it with a passion. And, I am not just talking about a job... I am talking about every aspect of life. If you can't put your whole heart into what you are doing, whether it be in business or relationships, you are merely wasting your time, and will find yourself terribly disappointed with the result.

I tried my hand at building a network marketing business, and boy was that work! I didn't enjoy it at all. I believed in the products I was promoting, but promoting them was a chore.

I would spend my days, evenings and weekends, calling strangers, trying to build the almighty downline. I faced objection and rejection daily. Yuck! No matter how much I believed in the product, I dreaded picking up that phone. As a result, I never achieved the success I was after.

The lessons we learn in life all come at a cost. The price I paid was time. I spent several years, just spinning my wheels, going nowhere.

One day, I decided to end the insanity. I stopped doing the things that I had been trained to do; after all, it wasn't working. I decided that if I was ever going to be successful, I needed to follow my passion.

Writing is something that I have always been passionate about, and have seemed to have a knack for. From the time I was 12 years-old, I wanted to be a writer. So, I threw away the leads I'd accumulated and picked up my pen. And that was the best thing I ever did for myself professionally.

I'd been publishing The Trii-Zine Ezine since 2001, but in 2004, I started my own promotional company, AdsOnQ, writing promotional articles for others who wanted to build businesses. It wasn't easy at first, but my business has become quite successful.

Did I work hard? Yes and no. For me, it was a labor of love. It was my determination that worked hard, not I. I built a reputation that I am quite proud of, and eventually, that reputation landed me my dream job. I never have to leave the house, I do what I love, and I have an employer who I think is awesome. He is funny, honest, generous and kind. His name is Dr. Jay Sherbondy.

Thanks to Dr. Jay, I am realizing my personal and professional goals. Thank you Dr. Sherbondy!

What about my company? AdsOnQ is still a success. Because it is my own business, I can schedule it around my employment with Dr. Jay. Sure, sometimes I can be found at my keyboard until midnight, writing for my clients, since I devote my days to Dr. Jay, but it's not work.

I love all that I do; therefore, none of it is work. I earn a living, but as for working... that I simply do not do.

Follow your passion; it is the path to success. Love what you do and you'll never have to work again.
