Do You Have Goals?
By Trina L.C. Schiller
What inspired you to build a home based business? What are your goals? Do you have anything specific that you are striving to achieve?
I am sure that your first thought was, 'I want to make more money!' But making more money is not a goal. It is actually a means to and end, and that 'END' is your goal.
What is it that you need more money for? What will having more money add to your life that you cannot get without it?
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you what I am aiming for in the next twelve months.
My number one business goal for the coming twelve months is to become a Melaleuca Senior Director. Here is my WHY...
What earning more money will do for me:
1. I will be able to build a bigger home for my family to live in. Right now I live in an 1800 sq. ft. house with my husband, two sons and my disabled mother. My mother has no door on her bedroom, as it is a converted alcove, at the bottom of the stairs. We have only one bathroom for the five of us to share. And, we have hateful neighbors living nextdoor. Therefore, building a bigger home would ease a great deal of stress for everyone in my family.
2. My husband will be able to cut back his work load and spend more time with the kids. Right now he manages a hunting ranch, and does construction work on the side. He is gone twelve hours a day, seven days a week.
3. Melaleuca will buy me the truck I have always wanted to give my husband. I think he deserves to drive something newer than his 1979 Ford.
4. Jeff and I will be able to discuss our son's impending college adventure with pride rather than worrying about where the tuition will come from.
The first step in getting what you want is to KNOW what you want. It's not the money, but what the money can and will do for you. Once you've identified what you want and why you want it, you must learn what needs to be done to get it, and decide to commit to doing it.
In order to become a Senior Director, I must help five other people in my business become Directors. To do this, I must help five people expand their own businesses by eight new members. This adds up to assisting in the enrollment of 40 new Preferred Customers.
That means I have to get on the telephone and talk to people... a lot of people. I need to do three way calls with my members and teach them how to present this business to others.
The shortest distance between two points will always be a straight line. In order to reach your goal, you must see it clearly in front of you, and keep it in front of you at all times. Walk straight toward it. Focus on what is ahead of you and let nothing cause you to stray from that straight line.
Each day you should start out by asking yourself, 'What do I need to do today to build my business?" Write it down and DO IT! It is that simple.
If you need help, ASK for it. Attend presentations online, participate in all the training available, and never stop talking to people about Melaleuca
You don't need to wait for someone to ask you what you do. Ask THEM what THEY do.
Standing in a checkout line at the store? Tell the person next to you how you could save them money on a product you see in their cart.
Do you know someone with a particular health challenge? Tell them about the Melaleuca product that would solve that problem. If you don't know about all the wonderful things that you can do with Melaleuca products, I strongly suggest that you stop by http://www.rmbarry.com and get a copy of the Melaleuca Wellness Guide. There are more than 300 different home remedies, using Melaleuca products, printed in that book.
And you know what...? It is perfectly okay to approach your family and friends and show them how being a Melaleuca Preferred Customer would not only help them, by using better safer products, but would help you grow your business and earn an income. Believe it or not, some people may choose to try Melaleuca just because they want to help you reach your goals.
What are your goals? If you care to share, please post your comments here.
